I fell in love with Noro Silk Garden on my first trip to Spin a Yarn, a yarn shop in my neighborhood. The colors and texture of the yarn reeled me in.
Noro Silk Garden 252 is 45% silk, 45% kid mohair, 10% lamb’s wool in dark green, black, indigo, and lime, and color 284 is blue, purple, indigo, and orange. I think it is the silk that makes the difference; the colors are beautiful.
This pattern is by Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed. It is knit in a 1 x 1 rib, alternating colors every two rows. I prefer the thin subtle stripes of color that alternating the two skeins created. Noro Silk Garden is a self-striping yarn, but the stripes would have been too wide for me if I had used just one skein.

Hi Betty,
I just love the colors of this scarf, and though I don't like stripes, I like this! Nice subtle the way the grey works with the bright colors. I think you're right about the silk, silk thread was always the nicest for color.
